“I restore myself when I’m alone”– Marilyn Monroe
If I had to describe myself in one word, it’ll be ‘paradox’.
Imagine the figure 8. The never ending infinity symbol perfectly represents the workings of my mind – Constantly moving, never a moment’s rest.
Some nights I want nothing more than to stay at home, other nights I can’t wait to hop onto the party wagon and dance the night away. Some days I am focussed and determined to make the most out of a hostile work environment, other days I just can’t be bothered to put myself through the wringer to satisfy some egos. There are days when I am open to a conflicting opinion, other times I wouldn’t want to get into an argument with myself.
In a nutshell, I am a big work in progress.
Story behind Five Magpies
Over the years, I’ve realised my passion for reading is consistent. The lockdown and the eventual loss of job seemed like the perfect opportunity to start putting my thoughts together and take on this mini project. If nothing else, I will have a collection of all my book reviews in one place, which doesn’t seem like too bad an idea.
My life consists of our beautiful dog Zia who brightens up my day, everyday and my husband, who is so much more than the image that word conjures – a partner, friend, confidante, mentor and lover.
Open to freelance projects
On the professional front, I have experience in working with brands and devising a communications and marketing strategy. I am based out of Delhi, India but have worked remotely most of my life. I am open to freelance projects in content writing, brand management, social media management and anything that a business needs that involves writing and selling.
I believe in the beautiful art of story-telling. I believe each one of us has a story that can put any fictional novel to shame. I believe in the power of goodness, kindness and above all compassion for all living beings.
